It’s spring  and I am really looking forward to a special day I have planned next month.  Every May, I’m in a quandary about how to spend Mother’s Day.  In addition to spending time with my own mother, I have a bevy of sisters, nieces, neighbors and friends I want to celebrate.  These women have either helped me care for my own children (with their advice, tips and gently worn clothing) or “mothered me” through some difficult times.  This is my way of saying “Thank You.”  

I am hosting a very special Mother’s Day tea and luncheon.  So far the planning is off without a hitch.  My one regret is that I neglected to send save the date cards to these very special but super busy ladies.  I have already received a few regrets from friends who have concert tickets, travel plans or other events.  Don’t make my mistake, definitely check out Shutterfly’s save the date cards.

To add a fun note to the event, I have asked every attendee to wear a gorgeous spring hat.  Hats have a way of bringing out a woman’s personality. Is she mysterious, sexy, fun, flamboyant, exciting, elegant or funny?  I am also sure that at least one woman will not even bother to wear a hat.  I’m  calling that hatless gal  the “You’re not the boss of me”  guest (There’s one at every party.)   I plan on capturing all these wonderful women in hats with my digital camera and placing the pictures into  beautiful photo books for keepsakes.
