My kids took their first trip to Europe in April. They loved London! They visited relatives, saw their favorite “Harry Potter” sights and even got a chance to create their own work of art. These are their top picks for kids traveling to London.
- London Eye – Enjoy a panoramic view of London. Big P hates rollercoasters but the London Eye moves so slowly that you can get on and off without them stopping it. Afterwards we strolled the promenade next to the Eye to watch the sidewalk entertainers.
- Pollack Toy Museum – Housed in a small row house, the Pollack Toy Museum has a treasure trove of historical toys, dolls and playthings. Don’t forget to visit their gift shop on the way out.
- Brass Rubbing at St. Martin in the Fields – After strolling through Trafalgar Square, we made our way over to this famous London church. We were each given a template and shown how to rub the impressions on black paper.
- Eating at Pret A Manger – it’s a chain but the family loved the freshly made salads, hot and cold sandwiches, assortment of teas and drinks – at a fairly reasonable price.
- The Tower of London and the Crown Jewels – the kids loved seeing all the old armor and history at the Tower of London. Look for the gents in the black and red Beefeater costumes for an entertaining Yeoman Warder tour. My daughter was especially in awe of the royal bling (uhem… I mean Crown Jewels).
