I wasn’t a particularly athletic kid. I was the one picked last for impromptu softball games at recess. I shunned getting dirty – not wanting to add to the laundry load of my overburdened mother. A year ago I started running. Partly to keep from packing on the pounds, improve my overall fitness and to reduce my stress level.
Running to me seemed like a fairly egalitarian sport. No expensive gear needed – just a good pair of running shoes. It can be equally enjoyed by young and old, men and women and seemed like a natural transition from the long walks that had become the mainstay of my physical activity.
When I travel, I always pack a pair of sneakers and inexpensive workout clothes. I find I exercise more when I’m away and free from the pressures of work.
Do you find time to exercise when you travel? If so, what do you do and what “equipment” do you pack?
