A few years ago, while doing some medical volunteer work in the Caribbean, I shorted out a piece of equipment by inadvertently plugging it directly into a socket. Besides feeling like a dummy, it cost me $1000 to replace. (No good deed goes unpunished.)
I just purchased the Kikkerland Universal Travel Adapter (one for each member of the family) in preparation for our trip to the London. This travel adapter works in the US, UK, EU, AU. By attaching the two components in various ways it can be used in more than 150 countries. I recommend making a copy of the instructions and keeping it with your travel documents. I got mine at the Container Store for ten bucks.
Have you ever “lost” an electronic item by not using an adapter?
Hey there – Just wanted to let you know I shared about your post on my blog today at http://www.toeuropewithkids.com/2011/05/travel-tuesday.html.
Sonja – thanks for the link love! We used the travel adapter in London and loved it.
