I’m big on vacation rentals. Why stuff a family of four into an hotel room when you can luxuriate (I’m feeling a bit Wendy Williams) in a home or apartment? Well, I answered that question with a recent stay at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach. 
The hotel itself is massive – and iconic – covering 22 acres on Miami Beach. Once you get over the sheer massiveness, there is plenty to like. Excellent service, family friendly restaurants, a 40,000 square spa, a real gym, pristine beach and a boardwalk.
There is something for everyone. The teen daughter’s only complaint – we didn’t plan our trip to accommodate the Weeknd’s New Year’s Eve concert at the hotel. Oh well, momma didn’t have the money for tickets anyway.
To save money we opted to travel to Miami the week before Christmas. We also took advantage of a special that allowed us to have a fourth night free after purchasing three nights.
We totally didn’t miss having the extra space of an apartment or a vacation home. Cheers!
