Our family home is located in Salin de Giraud, a peaceful village in the heart of the Camargue, far from any tourist bustle. Salin de Giraud bears witness to an important industrial past of the 19th century, and its charming rows of brick houses are like the corons of the north, completely atypical in our region. Here you will find refuge: calm, nature, sea, salt marshes, pink flamingos, bulls, horseback riding or cycling, discovery of birds, everything invites you to get away from it all.
Description of the house
On the ground floor, you will find an open and fully equipped kitchen, a dining area with a large family table and a lounge area with a comfortable sofa. A separate WC
On the first floor you will find a bedroom with a double bed,
A second bedroom with 1 double bed and 1 single bed
A large and beautiful bathroom with bath, shower and WC.
On the second floor, you will find a third bedroom with 1 double bed and 2 single beds,
A fourth and last bedroom with 1 double bed and 1 single bed.
A small bathroom with a shower. A separate toilet.
You have access to the large green and very well maintained garden with its beautiful shaded terrace where you can sunbathe and share a warm meal with family or friends around the barbecue. You can also enjoy a "homemade" shower in the garden to rinse off after the beach.
The accommodation is fully equipped: TV, washing machine, oven, fridge, dishwasher, coffee maker, microwave...as well as many utensils.
We provide an umbrella bed for babies with a real 120 x 60 mattress, two high chairs, a changing mat, a potty, and a toilet reducer. We have installed child safety devices on each level.
The house is big, and everyone has their place. You park your car in the garden, or in front of the gate, or even in the aisles where there is never a lack of space.
We would also like to inform you that there are quite steep stairs to go up to the rooms. Thus, we advise you to exercise the greatest caution if you are traveling with children or the elderly.
The little extra: your bikes or kitesurfing equipment can be kept safe in the secure garden.
The village and its activities
Salin-de-Giraud is appreciated for its climate, its calm, its wild beaches and the richness of its culture, its fauna and its flora.
Departing from the village or just a few km away, you have access to many activities: unusual horseback riding, kitesurfing, 4*4 safari, canoeing, electric mountain biking, fishing, excursion with a naturalist guide, visit to the salt marshes... and for the less sporty you can simply enjoy the sun and idleness on the beaches of Beauduc (16km) and Piémanson (11km).
The village is also famous for its history and its way of life. Salt and organic rice are produced there, Camargue bulls and horses are raised there.
Life is punctuated by bullfighting activities in the arenas and village festivals, ideal for having a good time with family, lovers and friends.
38 km away is the famous ancient city of Arles, where you can visit the many monuments as well as the brand new Luma Tower created by Frank GEHRY.
