You will be very well served by public transport, to stroll around the city and its surroundings!
The neighbourhood is very close to many shops: the Capucins market is 200 metres away, the grocery shop is 300 metres away, and the bakery is nearby...
The Mucem is 20 minutes away by public transport, and the Catalan beach is also 20 minutes away by bus.
The area is very popular with locals and tourists, so don't hesitate to ask me for good addresses, I'll be happy to share my favourites with you!

The 1st district is in the center of the city, and is the beating heat of Marseille. It hosts especially old historical buildings, such as the Mission de France Church, the Saint-Théodore Church, the Figaro’s house or the Pesciolini hotel. As well, the Vestiges garden, discovered during the 20th century, hosts the remains of the antique harbour of Marseille, and is a peaceful and great place to wander.
The atmosphere is warm and lively ! You will find various typical restaurants on the Vieux-Port, while staying near to the shopping streets such as the streets de la République and du Paradis. The public transportation is very dense in the 1st district, so the whole city is easily accessible from this place.
