The cottage is located in the small village of Aste-Béon, four kilometers north of Laruns, a small town of 1400 inhabitants located 40 kilometers south of Pau.
The location is idyllic and peaceful, near the Gave d'Ossau and with a view of the Ossau Valley and its peaks. On the site, you will find other chalets and a reception, as well as a concierge, a tennis court and a petanque court.
The accommodation comprises a living / dining room, a bathroom, a toilet, a kitchenette, a double room on the ground floor and another on the mezzanine, and two bunk beds. Outside there is a terrace with a magnificent view of the mountains and a table with six chairs. There is also a sofa bed for an extra bed. The heating is provided by electric heaters and in winter by a wood stove.
The location is ideal for walking, hiking and climbing at any time of the year and for skiing in winter. The Gourette and Artouste ski resorts are a 30-minute drive away. The Spanish border is only 25 kilometers away at the Pourtalet pass, at the bottom of the valley.
Laruns has a weekly market on Saturday mornings and has a supermarket as well as all the usual local shops, banks, post office and several bars and restaurants.
Ideally located for cycling enthusiasts, near the passes of Marie Blanque, Aubisque and Soulor. Located in the Pyrenees National Park and close to two spas, Hot Waters and Good Waters.
The nearest station is at Buzy, which connects the main station to Pau, from where trains leave for Paris, Bayonne, Bordeaux, Lourdes, Tarbes and Toulouse. There is also a regular bus service to Pau.
The nearest airport is Pau-Pyrénées-Uzein, which has scheduled flights to Paris Orly and Paris Charles de Gaulle, as well as to Lyon. Low-cost airlines currently serve Lourdes-Tarbes, Biarritz, Toulouse and Bordeaux.
