WELCOME to La Bastide Nord a converted barn peacefully situated between Bordeaux, Bergerac and St Emilion and only 5 minutes from the popular medieval market town of St Foy La Grande on the banks of the Dordogne river. A light and sunny house on 2 levels comfortably sleeping 8 people plus infants. With a large terrace and heated pool it is well equipped and ideal for a family holiday.
Downstairs there are 2 double bedrooms both with ensuite bathrooms, a walk in shower and also a separate WC. Upstairs there are 2 twin bedrooms (1 with a double bed) and a family bathroom. All the rooms have exposed beams and stone walls. Cot, high chair and stair gate available on request.
The barn is now a huge full height 60m2 open plan fully fitted kitchen, lounge and dining area with original beams, stone walls and a wood burner. The kitchen is well equipped with oven, induction hob, dishwasher, microwave, fridge, coffee machine, washing machine, iron etc. There is a TV with DVD player and UK Freeview box.
Triple doors leads out to a large terrace and covered area with plenty of outside seating and a BBQ. Steps take you up to a large garden and heated 11m x 5m swimming pool (1.4m deep) with an approved security alarm. The gardens have views overlooking vines and countryside.
In addition to the pool we have a football goal, boules, badminton net and racquets. Bikes can be hired locally and delivered to the door.
La Bastide Nord has the feel of total privacy and countryside whilst only a short drive from all local amenities, markets and many excellent restaurants. A super region for lovers of wine, culture, hiking, cycling, horseriding, canoeing, tennis, go-karting and fishing. There are several golf courses including the excellent 27 hole course at Chateau des Vigiers and a smaller 9 hole course at Nastringues, just 5 minutes from La Bastide!
Nearby is Lac de Gurson, with a beach and cafes and locally a small beach with a lifeguard on the banks of the river Dordogne.
