"La Maison de la Justice" Limeuil, is located in one of France's Most Beautiful Villages ("Plus Beaux Villages") where the Vézère River flows into the Dordogne River. The Old Courthouse is situated in a secluded part, off a picturesque square, and has a beautiful south-west facing garden overlooking the ancient rooftops.
The house is in a very quiet location with no passing cars. The house dates from the mid-14th Century and was built with Medieval techniques using local stone and oak. It has two monumental fireplaces and a private, secluded, sunny, south-west facing walled garden.
The house underwent extensive renovation during 2018 and now offers a large Salon with beautiful furniture and a fully equipped oak Kitchen with all modern integrated appliances. A door from the Salon leads you onto a raised terrace with a few steps down onto a secluded, lawned, 'Mediterranean' style garden . A magnificent lime tree offers shade on hot days. The tranquil garden offers far reaching views over the village rooftops, towards the Dordogne River. Its south-westerly aspect is the perfect place for dinner and a bottle of wine to enjoy the long summer evenings and to watch the sunset, which in mid-summer is almost 10pm !
A large, charming bedroom with monumental 14th century fireplace, a luxurious king-sized bed, and ample storage gives a truly comfortable stay. Next to the bedroom, there is a wet-room - with shower , WC , wash-basin and heated towel rail with views to the south overlooking the village.
The kitchen has an electric oven, induction hob, dishwasher, fridge and separate freezer - all concealed. A dining table with chairs offers a second eating place with ease.

The ancient village (listed in the 156 Plus Beaux Villages de France) is ideally situated at the confluence of two rivers thus making this location ideal for discovering both the Dordogne and Vézère valleys and the beautiful bastide (fortified) towns to the south, and the vineyards of Bergerac to the west.
This is not a gite, ie. we, the owners, do not live next door, so you're free to enjoy the house and the rural life in this beautiful French village.
