It feels like you are on top of the world at Petit Pezet. This spacious home (sleeps 10 guests) and its adjacent annex (sleeps 4 guests) sit peacefully on the edge of a small valley overlooking its secluded parkland gardens. It's a beautiful spot, secluded by substantial grounds of 4 acres of gently sloping lawns leading towards the large (15mx6m) private unheated pool. Across from the house, you can access 6 acres of your own woodland forest. Kids will love it!
The main stone house is an old farm building boasting high ceilings with exposed oak beams, huge fireplaces, and ancient stonework. The main stone house very comfortably sleeps six adults on two levels in three substantial double bedrooms with private bathrooms and four children in two attic rooms so in total 10 guests. The annex building sleeps four adults (or teenagers) in two independent double bedrooms with their private bathrooms.
Please note that the garden is not enclosed. As there is so much space (the outside space is vast!) it's impossible to fence the garden in its entirety. The garden is mainly at the back of the house. Children should be supervised at all times.
Please note regarding the pricing: This is based on 10 guests and after 10 it calculates an extra amount per person up to the maximum of 14 guests as you will be using also the annex. The cleaning fee is based on full occupancy (using the main house & annex). If you only want to book the main house for a max. of 10 guests the cleaning fee will be reduced to €200 (instead of €300).
The living room:
Originally a barn but incorporated many years ago into the main house, the sitting room boasts high ceilings with huge exposed oak beams, an enormous fireplace, a home cinema, and French Doors opening onto the front garden.
A solid oak staircase leads up to the mezzanine balcony giving access to the Gallery Room & Children’s bedrooms.
The kitchen:
Large open plan, terracotta floored kitchen/diner overlooking the garden.
Fully equipped with an American-style fridge/freezer, microwave, Range cooker gas hob & oven, and dishwasher. French doors open to the garden and the side door onto the Veranda.
Dining room:
Comfortably seats 10 under a beamed ceiling next to a wood-burning stove.
The bedrooms:
The Orchard Room (Ground Floor) –Super King/twin room, en-suite bathroom with bath/shower, double vanity unit, toilet and bidet. Features a wood-burning stove in an old stone fireplace.
The Garden Room (Ground Floor) – Super King/twin room with en-suite bathroom with shower and toilet. French doors open onto the upper terrace.
The Gallery Room (1st Floor) - Super King, open plan shower cubicle & double vanity unit with enclosed toilet. Exposed beams with a private balcony overlooking the upper terrace.
The Children’s Rooms (First Floor) – two attic rooms, both with twin beds.
The annex/outbuilding:
The Rose Room – Super King / Twin room with en-suite shower room, toilet, and wood-burning stove. French doors open onto the courtyard.
The May Room – Double room with en-suite shower room and toilet. French doors onto the courtyard.
Laundry Room - Washing machine & separate dryer, drinks fridge, wash basin, ironing board & iron, clothes dryers. This room sits in between the May and Rose rooms.
The veranda:
A vast outdoor dining and lounging space with gas plancha barbeque. A flexible setup that easily accommodates a house full of guests.
The pool:
15m x 6m enclosed swimming pool with pool house. The pool is large, not heated and open only between May and October.
The forest:
Six acres of private woodland forest to explore just across the lane. Mown grassland paths, small clearings, and a bamboo forest make for great children’s adventures and gentle strolls. A small orchard offers fresh figs and cooking apples.
