This spacious 4 bed house with 10 m x 6 m heated swimming pool sits in the middle of approx 2 acres of land including a wood, just above the village of Les Eyzies de Tayac. There are two main floors and a basement.
This year (2021) we have made some renovations to the main living floor, and it is now all open plan style, giving a modern, light feeling. The completely refurbished and redesigned kitchen has a useful island, and new Smeg appliances. The whole floor has been replaced with travertine tiling. The kitchen, lounge and dining room are reached via steps and a small terrace to the front of the house. Also on this floor are a double bedroom and bathroom.
Just outside the rear door is a large terrace with stone BBQ, and wooden table and chairs covered by a cream curtained pergola. This terrace features elegant balustrade steps which lead down to the pool. Stepping stones under a pretty wooden pergola draped with honeysuckle and wisteria lead to the pool terrace which features an ornamental fountain and plants. You'll find sunbeds and parasols there, and a table with 4 chairs.
In the house, there is a comfortable lounge and dining room. Satellite TV (English channels) a DVD player, PS2 games console with games for all ages and Wi-Fi, are all included. There are plenty of interesting books and some board games.
On the top floor there's a stunning master bedroom with super-king size French bed, then another pretty double bedroom with a double and single bed, and a single room with sturdy 3ft bunks, and adjacent to these are a shower room and separate WC.
For babies, there are two travel cots, two highchairs, travel bath, musical mat, baby rocker chair, changing mat, plus bottle steriliser for microwave, and baby monitor. There are swings, and toys and games, ride-on toys and pool inflatables. There's a table tennis table, small pool table and dart board in the basement.
The house is very comfortable, and is decorated mostly in neutral tones and white. Bed linen and towels are provided. Hairdryers are provided in the double rooms. Pool towels are not provided, so please bring some with you.
The kitchen has an electric oven and gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and there are plenty of utensils to make your stay comfortable.
The swimming pool has Roman end steps for your comfort and a safety alarm. The pool is normally heated from May until the end of September, and the use of the solar cover helps to retain the heat. There is effective in-ground remotely controlled lighting around the pool and within the garden, making it enjoyable for evenings by the pool. There is also automatic sensor lighting to the front of the property, and timed lighting to the front gates.
The surrounding environment is wooded and wonderfully tranquil. It's a short trip downhill to the village with its several shops, post office, 2 cash dispensers and beautiful riverside setting where you can enjoy a picnic and watch the canoes float by. There are a number of cafes and restaurants in the village, selling delicious food - everything from pizzas and take-away snacks, to award winning gourmet delights!
There are several interesting attractions in the area, the weather is gorgeous and the locals are friendly - you're assured a wonderful holiday in a beautiful and amazing setting!
