3 Bedroom House in Le Gicq
We have a total of two gites each with 2 double bedrooms and one twin bedroom along with an upstairs bathroom and downstairs shower room. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the mod cons, the lounge diner is light and airy with a beautiful Charentaise fireplace. We are located in a small friendly French village surrounded by the countryside of the Potiou-Charente the second sunniest place in France. It is perfect for those who want a quiet relaxing holiday or for those who want plenty to do and see.
There is a large 5mx12m swimming pool which is for the use of all of our guests, in the rear part of the garden there is a children's play area with a trampoline, swing set and slide. We have lots of outside space ideal for barbecues and al fresco dining. This is an ideal area for walking or cycling through the vines and many fields of beautiful sunflowers.
This year guests at vines will have exclusive use of the enclosed pool and pool area.
The nearest village is Nere a mere 5 minutes by car also an easy cycle ride away, Nere has a small shop, post office, bar/restaurant, doctors, dentist, pharmacy and that all important boulangerie. The larger town of Matha is a 10 minute drive away which has three supermarkets and a monthly market (first Friday every month).
If you wish to have a day out at the coastal town of La Rochelle this is an easy journey by car and will take you approximately one hour, Spend a fun filled day here exploring the town and visiting the famous Aquarium.
The town of Cognac is 30 minutes away and offers guided tours both in English and French around Hennessey, Martell and Remy Martin. Cognac also has a lovely cafe culture sit and enjoy a wine or coffee around the town square.
Futuroscope is a 90 minute journey a way but well worth the effort it is one of the best loved leisure parks in France and is unique in Europe. There are 3D rides with 4D effects, games, live shows, open air activites and a spectacular nightly light show, truly something for all the family to enjoy.
A mere 20 minutes away you can explore the beautiful town of St Jean'd Angeley, this has the usual supermarkets, shops even a Lidl and a stunning cobbled street old town to wander around.
