THE HOUSE
Looking for an unforgettable stay in the Luberon? La Mercerie, in Goult, is the ideal place to explore the Luberon hills and enjoy village life while still having somewhere peaceful to retreat to.
The house features five spacious, air-conditioned bedrooms, each with its own private en-suite bathroom and a queen-size bed with brand-new bedding.
You will have access to a fully equipped kitchen, and you can enjoy your meals either in the dining room or around the house’s original well.

The courtyard features a charming, heated small Provençal plunge pool, measuring 3 m x 2 m, open from May until the end of September. It is perfect for cooling off and relaxing on warm summer days.
The rooftop terrace overlooks the village and offers magnificent views of the Luberon mountain range, the surrounding countryside, the village rooftops and the church bell tower. It is the perfect spot to unwind at the end of the day.
A laundry room with a washing machine and tumble dryer is also available for your convenience.
THE VILLAGE
Goult is one of the few villages in the Luberon that has managed to preserve its traditional charm and, above all, its authentic soul. It is a lively village that remains relatively undiscovered by tourists, much to the delight of those in the know!
You will find all the essential local shops here, including a grocery store, cheesemonger, bakery, butcher, souvenir shops and artisan boutiques, as well as several restaurants and a bar shaded by lime trees on the main square. It is hard to find anywhere more quintessentially Provençal!
The weekly market takes place every Thursday. The village also has pétanque courts, tennis courts, basketball facilities and a skate park.

Avignon TGV railway station is approximately 40 minutes away, while Marseille Provence Airport is about one hour away. The spectacular Calanques of Cassis are also roughly an hour’s drive away.

A LITTLE HISTORY
The oldest part of the house dates back to the 16th century. As you make your way up through the floors, you will discover the more refined bourgeois style of the 18th century, visible in the traditional French-style ceilings, decorative mouldings, fireplaces and terracotta floor tiles.
The top floor was originally the attic, where silkworms were raised, as was common practice throughout the region.
