Travel Purpose: business

Positive: The property was better in real life than in the pictures which was a wonderful surprise. The host was very friendly on arrival and showed us around. The house itself nestled into the woodland, very beautiful and peaceful.

Negative: We were charged 300 euros as a cleaning charge after we left the property. This was because we left two empty bottles on the side, and a pizza box as waste in the property. Clearly we found this unreasonable and have contested. We were barely in the house as were there on business, and so didn't leave a mess other than leaving two empty bottles and this pizza box and a couple of leaflets. We didn't leave any other waste at all, and didn't think to strip the sheets. However we received the notification that because we didn't strip the sheets and left this minor amount of waste, that they were to charge this fee. Hopefully we will receive a resolution. If we had known, we would have stripped the sheets and would have taken this small amount of waste away with us, however had assumed as per staying in any other accommodation, that it would be ok to leave a small amount of waste. Again, if we had known, we would have taken it away to avoid the charge. I'm hoping that they are reasonable and allow us this to be refunded, but if not then we wish them all the best, but would say as a word of advice if booking this property, then you are expected to leave it as you found it, which was not unfortunately clear to us when we booked the property. I have scored the property down due to this charge, however if it was not for the charge then we would be leaving a 10 out of 10 as other than this it was better than it looked in the pictures and a good price point, again before the charge was added - which was more than the cost of the stay.
