Are you wanting somewhere to stay in France that means you don't have to drive to go out in the evenings? Then look no further!
La Montgrande is a beautiful old country house set in 2 acres of gardens to relax, but has the best of both worlds as it is in the centre of the large village of Aulnay.
Within walking distance (approximately 400m) is the village square, with 3 bars, 1 of which is also a restaurant. There is also another bar restaurant nearby within walking distance.
The square also has 3 boulangeries, banks, post office, newsagent, small convenience store to name a few amenities. there is a supermarket approximately 1.5km away, which has all you would need for your stay.
Sunday is market day in Aulnay, a day for everyone to meet and enjoy the sunshine.
Around the village there are plenty of things to see and do, including an outdoor public pool during summer months, tennis courts, and a beautiful church (Eglise Saint-Pierre d'Aulnay).
Further afield there are many lovely towns and cities to visit, La Rochelle 1 hour, Ile de Ré 1 hr 20, Cognac 40 minutes, Saintes 35 minutes, Niort 45 minutes.
The rental is a 2 bedroomed self contained gîte with its own entrance. It is part of the main of the house (where we live) but separated and private.
It has the little touches which really make it a gem that our guests love. Luxury Egyptian cotton towels, soft touch bedding, Dormeo king size memory foam mattress, feather cushions and more... so you feel at home.
The ground floor:
Open living space consists of a sitting area, dining area and kitchen.
Bathroom with shower, sink and toilet.
Upstairs:
Main bedroom with king size bed and space for cot if required.
Second bedroom mainly designed for children, consisting of 2 single beds.
*Please note the bedrooms are upstairs and the bathroom downstairs.
The gardens are large and so there is plenty of space to sit and relax, listening to the birds, and enjoying a glass or two of wine in the sun.
