Enjoy exclusive use of a lovely 3 bed-roomed French farmhouse with an excellent outdoor living space. Ideal for families. There is a large courtyard with fig trees, bay trees , shrubs and plants. space in the drive for parking.
The heated pool area has decking and a paved area and features a shaded seating area and al fresco dining space. For those who prefer the shade - an adjacent lovely stone paved hanger, with rattan seating and dining table for more relaxed family meals. There is a full size table tennis table as well as a junior size table. Inside the house there is a large family kitchen with washing machine and dish washer, coffee machine . The space has been converted to accommodate dining for up to 8 people and is of french character. The living room is cosy and features a log burner and 2 sofas , TV with french channels and access to Netflix. The upstairs has three good size bedrooms. One with two twin beds , one with a double bed and a large master bedroom with on suite . there is also a family bathroom on this floor.The property is situated in the country side among fields of sunflowers and corn, but within easy driving distance to the seaside ( la Rochelle and Royan ) 45 mins away , or if you prefer, the pretty town of Cognac is only an hour away. Two minutes down the road is the pretty chateaux Dampiere -sur Boutonne , where you can eat and drink in the village restaurant. A five minute drive will take you into Aulnay where there are a range of bars and restaurants, post office and local markets.
If you want the buzz of the city, 90 minutes will take you into Bordeaux , through wine country and local vineyards. The cottage is in the Charente Maritime region which boasts a Mediterranean climate and is hot through July , August and September. The area is ideal for cyclists with several routes and options depending on your choice and level of experience and fitness. There is ample storage space for bikes . We do have a small selection of cycles for use on request. Owners live on site in an adjacent property and are on hand to help where needed.
